Rose City Youth Sailing Society
Rose City Youth Sailing Society.
The mission of RCYSS is to prepare children for the joy and skill of sailing. The students learn to think creatively and independently in a school structured environment.
The power and peace there is when moving through the water using the wind to guide you is empowering. Imagine being there. What a great feeling.
RCYSS provides local youths with financial aid and discounted tuition through our partnerships with Willamette and Vancouver sailing schools. RCYSS also helps those schools maintain and purchase equipment used in their training programs.

Jack Gainer was an avid sailor and racer and past RCYC commodore. The Gainer fund supports local schools and events as well as reimburses approved amounts. His generous donations started this fund.
The Matt and Mattie youth sailing fund was created in memory of Terry and Kathie Annis’s son and grandson who perished in a private aircraft accident July 8, 2011. The Matt and Mattie fund, offers financial assistance to youngsters with an interest in sailing. The plan for 2012 is to focus on the summer sailing camps offered by Vancouver Lake Sailing School. Matt and Mattie loved the outdoors and anything with wings.
Rose City Youth Sailing Society (RCYSS) is not part of Rose City Yacht Club (RCYC), but we are grateful RCYC is hosting us.
